Building team

Shelley School District began the process of selecting an Architect/Engineering (A/E) firm and Construction manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) in November 2022. This process required companies that were interested in applying to present us with resumes. We received 5 resumes from CM/GCs and 4 resumes from A/Es. These resumes were more like spiral-bound booklets. They included references & qualifications for their entire teams, history of jobs similar to ours, statistics on staying on time & within budget, etc. All resumes were evaluated using a scoring rubric approved by the school board. The finalists gave lengthy slideshow presentations on what they suggested was best for our school. We interviewed them in-depth, in person. Our committee then decided on whom we thought was best, based on all of the above. These companies were presented to and approved by the school board on January 17, 2023. 

They are Design West Architects and Bateman Hall Construction.

 

A representative from Design West Architects and Bateman Hall have been at every building committee meeting since.  They have been integral in steering us towards appropriate size, location, and budget for the project.

 

As anyone who has built a home knows, we had to have this hiring and

plans in place before voting on the bond...

That is how we knew how much to bond for.
